Welcome to Merry Poppets
Quite simply our aim at Merry Poppets is to provide the best child care support and early years education for your family.
Our knowledge tells us that working in partnership with our parents contributes to the child’s happiness and security whilst at nursery. Shared information between parents and nursery staff will help develop a greater understanding between us.
We are very proud of our staff, they make each of our settings unique, however as you would expect, all settings are handled with the same high standards of care and professionalism. Our employment selection process ensures that we only ever hire staff we know are passionate about child care. They are a dedicated team who are excited to spend time each day with your child, getting to know them and helping them to learn and grow to their full potential. All our Nursery Practitioners have a kind and gentle manner that promotes a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere, designed to encourage happy confident children. At Merry Poppets we work on the basis of promoting positive behaviour rather than managing bad behaviour, our Nursery Practitioners are properly trained in being excellent role models and our children thrive in this environment.
We follow Ofsted’s requirement for enhanced DBS checks (the highest level of checks currently available) on all our staff including the nursery cook and administration staff. References are always stringently checked so we are confident of their integrity. Merry Poppets has a commitment to safeguard and protect children, young people and adults.
All our full-time staff have qualifications in child care, we actively support, encourage and sponsor all our staff to study for further qualifications. Many of them are qualified to NVQ 3 level or working towards this level and above. We sponsor all our staff through a paediatric first aid qualification and support those individuals who wish to develop and specialise in any aspect of child care.
We hold regular staff meetings where we frequently review policies, procedures and the Ofsted Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. We ask staff to review different aspects of their job and test their knowledge through personal appraisals and supervision.
